Meet the Founder
UNSTABLE is founded by our CEO/Founder Griffin Wilson. Griffin was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where there wasn't very much representation of Black creatives especially Black Owned Brands & Designers. At a young age, he knew he wanted to change that. Fashion always played a huge part in Griffin's life! Fashion was his passion, when the other kids in high school were applying for college, Griffin knew he wanted to focus on becoming a Fashion Designer. Art School was too expensive for him so he went a different route, he got his experience by working in Retail. It wasn't until he started working at Nordstrom is when he felt closer and closer to his dream of becoming a designer. He became more familiar with Womenswear & Menswear just from styling his clients who shopped with him exclusively. He was the top seller in his department, he won awards, his face was plastered on a wall with the other top sellers who worked in the store. He knew this wasn't the end though, his dream was still on his mind daily. He eventually left in October 2019 to follow his dreams.

On November 27th, 2020... After years of dreaming and gaining knowledge for this very moment, He finally launched UNSTABLE.
Mission
Our mission is to flip the negative narrative behind the word "Unstable" & the term "Emotionally Unstable" by being a physical representation of how those unstable and uncomfortable moments are meant to guide you to your destiny. Overall UNSTABLE is not just a clothing line, it's a movement with a message that will be the focal point & purpose of our brand for as long as we operate.

"My unstable moments are apart of my story. They've helped mold me into the individual I am today. I spent a good two years trying to come up with a sellable "aesthetic" for UNSTABLE that didn't really align with who I truly was. I started to place myself in a box but, now that is not the case. I can honestly say, if I didn't go through what I went through I would not be the person I am today and that is what I want to help others come to terms with. With every collection you will get a story, a story that may have not been the best times but I am owning it and that is what I want to promote! Beauty to me is openness, depth and self acceptance. I want all my customers to feel beautiful in their UNSTABLE pieces, feeling secure of who they are & their story, all while knowing the story behind their favorite UNSTABLE piece!"
